As one of the "new engineering" programs created by the Ministry of Education, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering is a deep integration of the new generation of information technology, artificial intelligence technology and manufacturing industry, realizing intelligent activities including analysis, reasoning, judgment, conception and decision-making in the manufacturing process.

The program has excellent faculty and scientific research conditions. Among the current 13 teachers, there are 4 professors, 4 associate professors and 10 are doctors. This program has established a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, an integrated circuit high-end equipment industry college, a provincial undergraduate off-campus practical education bases of the Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Research Institute, a provincial practical education base of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology-Zhejiang Jingu Co., Ltd., and a joint laboratory of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology-Mitsubishi Electric Machinery Industrial Robot.

This program combines basic disciplines of control, information and management, deeply integrates emerging technologies such as the Internet of things, artificial intelligence and data science, and focuses on solving problems such as intelligent design and manufacturing, intelligent molding equipment, industrial robots, intelligent manufacturing system planning, and digital factory design in the manufacturing process. Graduates can engage in design, manufacturing, research and development, engineering application and operation management of intelligent manufacturing systems in the intelligent manufacturing industry and related fields. Meanwhile, cutting-edge scientific research in relevant fields in scientific research institutes and universities also have graduate demands for this program.
